Heaters 

Cartridge / Insertion Heaters

Watlow’s cartridge heaters and insertion heaters can be inserted into holes, used as immersion heaters placed directly in liquid or in protective wells, or can be mounted in pipes or vessels.

Tubular Heaters

Tubular heaters are used for immersion and air heating applications. They can be clamped to objects such as vessels and tanks, fitted into milled groove platens, immersed directly into a liquid being heated or even mounted in ducts for heating air and gas. Heaters are available as single- and double-ended, and can be formed to complex geometries.

Flexible Heaters

Flexible heaters are commonly used to heat irregular surfaces, shapes and pipes. These heaters can be bonded or fastened to parts and are often used for freeze protection.

Immersion Heaters

These heaters can be immersed directly in the liquid being heated or put in protective wells. Multiple style mounting adaptors are available.

Circulation Heaters

Watlow’s diverse array of circulation heaters range from quartz heaters for aggressive chemicals to large pressure vessel heaters with capabilities up to 3000psi. These heaters can be used for liquids or gases in various applications.

Fluid Delivery Heaters

Watlow fluid delivery heaters provide precise, reliable and responsive heating for fluid delivery systems in medical, analytical, water purification and general process applications.

Air Heaters

Watlow’s air heaters can be used to prevent freezing and condensation in electrical and mechanical housing or can be placed in ducts for forced air heating.

High-Temperature Heaters

These high-temperature heaters are used for extreme high-temperature applications. The heaters fit applications such as the construction of furnaces and chambers.

Specialty Heaters

These specialty heaters are commonly used for high temperature applications or in cases where high watt densities are required. These versatile heating elements can be formed or machined to fit precise heating applications.

Strip / Clamp-on Heaters

Bolted or clamped to flat surfaces these heaters can provide freeze or moisture protection. These heaters can be attached to tank or vessel walls for warming.

Band / Barrel Heaters

These heaters can be clamped to most any cylindrical surfaces. The materials used in the construction of these heaters allows them to be used at temperatures up to 1400°F (760°C) or used at low temperatures for freeze protection.

Nozzle Heaters

These heaters are formed to fit cylindrical parts. Applications for these heaters range from industrial processes to medical applications.

Radiant Heaters

Used in non-contact applications where conduction or convection heating is not practical.

Thermostats and Accessories

Watlow provides a variety of thermostats and accessories that can be integrated with the heaters. By providing a one-stop solution customers do not have to use multiple component suppliers.

A wide variety of temperature sensors including thermocouples, resistance temperature detectors (RTDs) and thermistors, as well as wire, mineral insulated cable, connectors and hardware are designed and supplied by Watlow and manufactured at our fully integrated faciliity.

Sensors News

Watlow's EXACTSENSE® exhaust gas temperature sensor is now available with the control area network (CAN) J1939 digital output signal. The CAN J1939 output signal eases integration of EXACTSENSE thermocouples into diesel exhaust after-treatment systems. EXACTSENSE is also available with pulse width modulated (PWM), local interconnect network (LIN) and analog 0-5V output signals.

Thermocouples

Thermocouples are best suited for high temperatures, extreme environments or applications requiring microscopic size sensors. These fiberglass insulated thermocouples are capable of temperatures up to 900°F (480°C) for continuous operation. Watlow provides grounded, ungrounded and exposed junctions on millions of manufactured thermocouples.

Resistance Temperature Sensors

Resistance temperature sensors are suited for applications where accuracy and stability are essential for proper control in applications that operate at or below 1200°F (650C). RTDs, available in a variety of styles and constructions, are specially designed to ensure precise and repeatable temperature measurement for a wide variety of applications. Thermistors are ideal for applications where fast time response and high change in resistance over a limited temperature range is required. Maximum operating temperature on Watlow thermistors is 572°F

Integrated Multi-Function Controllers

Integrated multi-function controllers are a new class of instruments that combine temperature, process and machine control, over- and under-temperature limit protection, high amperage power switching, safety disconnect and field communications into a single package. A variety of modular form factors and display types provide the convenience and reliability of utilizing a single component in place of several.

Temperature and Process Controllers

Temperature and process controllers are used over a vast range of industrial, scientific and commercial applications. These controllers automatically adjust outputs based on sensor feedback working in concert to control process variables such as temperature, flow, pressure and relative humidity, as well as, to achieve an optimized and stable process.

Limits and Scanners

Limits monitor systems and respond to over- or under-temperature conditions. Agency approved limits provide safety assurance and protect people and property by shutting off power in the event a limit is tripped or exceeded. .

Watlow | Solid State Power Switching Devices

Power switching devices, such as stand-alone power controllers, deliver power to electric heaters and other loads when current and voltage requirements exceed the capabilities available in discrete temperature and process controllers. These devices perform supervisory and diagnostic functions to identify overload conditions, open and short circuits or other unsafe operating conditions. Watlow’s solid state power switching devices work in combination with Watlow’s PID temperature controllers to maximize process control, load performance and heater life.

Operator Interfaces

Operator interfaces provide users with easy-to-use access and control of a machine, instrument or process. Advanced models include features such as a touchscreen, color graphical display, data logging, graphing, password security and field communications. A wide variety of interfaces and form factors are available to compliment Watlow controllers.

Indicators

Indicators display temperatures and other process values on bright, easy-to-read displays in user-selectable units. Simple operation and design for a broad range of operating environments makes them ideal for applications such as food preparation, industrial machine control, analytical instruments, packaging and plastics.

Data Loggers

Data loggers record data over time for quality control and compliance with regulation. Solutions include personal computer software with the ability to log data acquired from instruments such as temperature and process controllers in addition to hard-wired devices. Logged data can be transferred to personal computers for post-process analysis via a variety of transfer mechanisms

Software

Software is used to communicate with temperature and process controllers and other instrumentation. Offerings include configuration software to set up and control product configurations. This also includes trending and data logging HMIs to monitor and operate turn-key systems.

Accessories
